Sheet metal fabrication done right starts before the first bend.
We fabricate custom sheet metal enclosures, brackets, panels, chassis, and welded assemblies, fast, to drawing, and inspected in San Clemente before they ship. Before production starts, our engineers review your flat pattern and geometry, flag bend radius and material issues early, and route every job to a vetted precision sheet metal fabricator.
One contact coordinates laser cutting, press brake forming, welding, finishing, and PEM hardware insertion from prototype through production.
Choosing your sheet metal fabrication process.
Not every part belongs on the same process. Here is how we match cutting, forming, and joining to the requirement.
Sheet Metal Laser Cutting
A focused laser beam cuts flat patterns from sheet stock with high precision and a clean edge.
Right when: The pattern is tight-tolerance and geometry is complex, at prototype through production volume.
Common parts: Brackets. Panels. Enclosure blanks.
Waterjet Cutting for Thick and Heat-Sensitive Metals
High-pressure water, often with an abrasive, cuts material without introducing heat.
Right when: The material is heat-sensitive, thick, or reflective, and a heat-affected edge isn’t acceptable.
Common parts: Thick plate parts. Reflective metals. Post-hardened stock that still needs cutting.
CNC Punching
A die punches holes and standard features into flat stock, fast and repeatable.
Right when: Volume is higher and features are common hole or slot patterns.
Common parts: Perforated panels. Repeated hole patterns. High-volume brackets.
Press Brake Forming and Bending
A die forms or cuts sheet metal in a single press stroke, built for repeatability at volume.
Right when: Production volume justifies tooling cost and the part geometry is locked.
Common parts: High-volume brackets. Clips. Production enclosures.
Sheet Metal Welding (Spot, TIG, MIG)
A press brake bends a flat pattern into finished three-dimensional geometry along defined bend lines.
Right when: Nearly any sheet metal part with a formed profile needs this step.
Common parts: Enclosures. Brackets. Chassis. Panels.
Welding (Spot, TIG, MIG)
Joins formed or cut sheet metal components into a single fabricated assembly.
Right when: The part requires multiple pieces joined into one structure.
Common parts: Weldments. Frames. Structural assemblies.

Common questions about sheet metal fabrication
A few things procurement and design teams ask before a sheet metal RFQ.
We support laser cutting, waterjet cutting, CNC punching, metal stamping, press brake forming, spot, TIG, and MIG welding, PEM hardware insertion, and assembly. Materials include steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, brass, and application-specific alloys, each matched to a vendor in our network with the right tooling for your bend radii and material thickness.
Yes. Anodizing, powder coating, chem film, plating, and other finishes are coordinated as part of the same build, so a bracket or enclosure arrives complete instead of needing a second vendor relationship.
Engineer review checks hole and cutout placement relative to bend lines, and flat pattern efficiency, before the job goes to a vendor. Catching that upstream avoids scrapped parts and rework after forming.
Yes, from a single formed bracket to a full production run, with the same quality standard and the same point of contact at every volume.
Precision Expedited is ITAR Registered and supports defense sheet metal programs.
A curated network means your part goes to a vendor with proven capability in that material and process, not whoever’s algorithm-matched fastest. Every part is inspected in San Clemente before it ships.
